order to our lives. (Romans 10:9-10)
- We make a decision to turn our lives over to the care of God through Christ.
(Romans 12:1)
- We make a searching and honest moral inventory of ourselves. (Psalm
32:3-5)
- We admit to God, to ourselves and another human being the exact nature of
our wrongs. (I John 1:8-10; James 5:16)
- We submit to the Lordship of Christ. (Matthew 7:7-11)
- We humbly ask God to renew our minds so that our sinful patterns can be
transformed into patterns of righteousness. (Romans 12:2)
- We make a list of all persons we have harmed or have been unforgiving toward
and become willing to make amends with them. (Ephesians 4:32)
- We make direct amends where possible, except when doing so will injure them
or others. (Matthew 5:23-24)
- We continue to take personal inventory and when we are wrong we promptly
admit it. (Psalm 139:23-24)
- We seek to grow in our relationship with Jesus Christ through prayer,
fellowship and obedience, seeking for wisdom and understanding of His will for
us and His power to carry it out. (Ephesians 5:15-18)
- Having had a spiritual awakening, we try to carry the Gospel message of
salvation, freedom and restoration to others who have had similar problems.
(Acts 1:8)
